4nd Quarter 2018 Newsletter

HUBZone Update

It’s official. K&E Plastics has been certified by the SBA as a HUBzone Company effective October 30, 2018.

“I would like to thank the K&E staff and the Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center for going through the HUBZONE application process”, said Eric Broderson, President of K&E Plastics. “We are hopeful the HUBZONE certification will be beneficial for K&E Plastics as we will be able to bring our expertise in machining of plastic parts to government customers in a more direct and strategic way”

“We have positioned the company for growth over the last several years with the addition of new machinery while supporting a grassroots workforce development initiative at the local level”, continued Broderson. “The economy seems to be doing ok so the HUBZONE certification comes at a perfect time”.

CNC Training

A consortium of local manufacturers, including K&E Plastics, continues to constructively engage with our local tech center on the CNC Training Program. Along with 3 CNC Training programs, ranging from entry level to more advanced programming, we have just supplemented that curriculum with Blue Print Reading and GD&T. “ I am encouraged by the progress of the CNC Training Program”, said Eric Broderson, President of K&E Plastics. “ Not only are we seeing a platform for manufacturing skills development but it also sends a positive message to the community that K&E and the participating companies have good paying jobs we are actively looking to fill”

Bah  Humbug

K&E Plastics has been informed by a number of our key material suppliers that effective January 2019, there will be price increases on a host of thermoplastics and thermosets. K&E Plastics will not compromise our manufacturing or quality processes in light of these increases however many of our customers may see a modest price increase in quoting in the new year. K&E Plastics values all our customers and K&E would like to thank you for your continued business. K&E Plastics has attached the price increases for your reference.
